Tutorial Participation Criteria

Will be judged against the following list:

  1. Active involvement
  2. Coherent discussion/not rambling off the topic
  3. Constructive tactful engagement with ideas from classmates
  4. Keeping tut on track
  5. Knowing when to stop speaking/not dominating conversation
  6. Listening attentively
  7. Participating constructively in discussion
  8. Relevance of contribution
  9. Respect and sensitivity to other ideas
  10. Turning up with one page summary

 

The HPO Tutorial Facilitation alternate assessment

Task: 10-15 minute facilitation of a blue tutorial which replaces the tutorial participation assessment for the course.

Criteria: Your facilitation will be assessed against the following criteria:

  • Creating a focus on learning rather than competition
  • Creating an atmosphere where people feel free to speak
  • Degree of class learning
  • Directing the conversation constructively
  • Engaging audience effectively and getting everybody to participate
  • Enthusiasm
  • Ingenuity
  • Interest generated and maintained
  • Knowledge of subject eg research beyond WEB reading
  • Not dominating as presenter or allowing others to do so
  • Quality/clarity of handout/instructions
  • Stimulating and maintaining discussion
  • Supporting material/use of appropriate media
