ways of seeing the environment

This lecture examines the extent to which Australian attitudes towards the environment have evolved so as to emphasise the diversity of approaches peple have adopted towards the environment whilst exploring the connections between the themes of this course. A skill that this course aims to equip you with is the basic ability to "read" the landcape which involves recognising the past changes or decisions that have been imposed on the environment by society, with the recognition that the land, whilst it may seem to look natural, is the result of previous changes imposed by previous societies.
